About the Unit: The Pritzker School for Molecular Engineering (PME), established in 2011 by the University of Chicago in partnership with Argonne National Laboratory, is a transformational academic unit exploring the intersection of science and engineering. In 2019, in recognition of our success, impact, and expansion, and the support of the Pritzker Foundation, the institute was elevated to the Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering—the first school in the nation dedicated to this emerging field. PME will lead engineering research and education in new directions, solve technological problems of major significance, and continually inspire creative applications of molecular-level science. 

Program Overview: The University of Chicago invites applications for the 2027 Chicago Quantum Institute (CQI) Postdoctoral Fellowship in Theoretical Quantum Science. CQI brings together leading scientists and engineers across physics, chemistry, computer science, and partner institutions including Argonne National Laboratory. The fellowship supports outstanding early-career scientists pursuing research in theoretical quantum information and quantum science, providing an opportunity to engage broadly with the University of Chicago’s quantum research community (see https://quantum.uchicago.edu/research-areas/quantum-theory-and-computation for a list of relevant faculty). The three-year appointment offers a competitive salary, dedicated research funds, benefits, and carries no teaching responsibilities.

• A brief research statement (500 words) outlining research interests to be pursued at the University of Chicago. 

• The name of one or more University of Chicago faculty members with whom the applicant is interested in working.
