The Opportunity
A Senior Event Marketing Specialist, you will play a key role in bringing Quantum Design's presence at tradeshows, conferences, workshops, and customer events to life. You will own the day-to-day coordination and logistics of our North American event program, ensuring every event is executed seamlessly and supports our business objectives. While North America will be your primary focus, you will also collaborate with and provide event support to Quantum Design's global offices as capacity allows.
In this role, you will work closely with Sales, Applications, Product Management, and external partners to manage timelines, vendors, shipping, booth services, and event logistics. You will serve as the central point of coordination, ensuring teams arrive prepared, deadlines are met, and every detail is accounted for. Responsibilities
- Lead event management across trade shows, customer events, conferences, and workshops by managing timelines, logistics, staffing, materials, and onsite activities from planning through completion.
- Serve as the primary event contact for sales teams, vendors, venues, and internal stakeholders by coordinating requirements, communicating timelines, and ensuring alignment across all parties.
- Manage the events budget and vendor activities by obtaining quotes, coordinating purchase orders and invoices, tracking costs, identifying savings opportunities, and supporting overall budget objectives.
- Identify and coordinate venues and event services by evaluating locations based on customer needs, product requirements, logistics, accessibility, and overall event objectives.
- Coordinate internal event staffing and participation, ensuring employees receive schedules, deadlines, registration details, and event-related communications
- Support inventory management by maintaining accurate records, coordinating shipments and returns, and improving processes for the storage, movement, setup, and removal of event assets.
- Support with event marketing and content development by coordinating graphics, collateral, advertising, social media, presentations, and other customer-facing materials to ensure accurate and consistent product messaging.
- Collaborate with international teams to support global workshops, coordinating shared requirements, and ensuring effective communication and execution across regions.
- Align products and messaging with target audiences, anticipate customer needs, and resolve issues to ensure successful event execution.
- Measure event effectiveness and drive continuous improvement by analyzing costs, attendance, engagement, customer feedback, and business outcomes to provide post-event recommendations and improve future programs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business, Event Management, Hospitality, or a related field
- Five years of experience coordinating events, tradeshows, conferences, marketing programs, or corporate events
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, deadlines, and competing priorities simultaneously
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams, or comparable business productivity tools
- Ability and willingness to travel as required to support events
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting events within scientific, technology, engineering, manufacturing, or other technical industries
- Ability to create a positive experience by understanding the needs of event participants and stakeholders and responding effectively to their expectations
- Ability to identify and pursue opportunities to attract new clients, events, partnerships, and revenue
- Demonstrates confidence, credibility, and professionalism when representing the organization and engaging with clients, executives, global partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating events across multiple countries, regions, or global teams
- Hands-on experience managing tradeshow logistics, including freight, exhibitor services, booth vendors, material handling, and onsite event setup
- Ability to operate DSLR or mirrorless camera equipment to capture high-quality event photography
- Proficiency with CRM, lead capture, event management, or project management platforms such as Salesforce, Popl, Asana, or similar tools
- Experience collaborating with geographically distributed teams and cross-functional stakeholders
- Familiarity with event performance metrics, lead management, post-event reporting, and ROI analysis
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is 100% onsite. The employee will report to our facility in San Diego, CA five days a week
- Salary Range: $79,000 - $105,000, yearly

- Physical & Travel Requirements: Ability to move, lift, and transport event materials weighing up to 50 pounds and assist with booth setup and teardown activities. Ability and willingness to travel approximately 20-30% of the time, including occasional evenings and weekends to support events
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively across internal teams, vendors, and external partners
- Ability to work independently, proactively identify needs, and resolve operational issues with limited supervision
