You will build code infrastructure to drive equipment and establish data pipelines that inform next-generation designs.Key Responsibilities- Automated Characterization: Develop scripts to drive instrumentation (lasers, VNAs, detectors) for photonic device characterization- Scalable Test Systems: Collaborate with external partners to design manufacturing test processes scaling from R&D to production- R&D to Manufacturing Bridge: Align on KPIs and translate into POR and DoE- Tooling & Infrastructure: Implement custom optical toolsets and techniques for quantum PICs- Data Pipelines: Manage processing of large datasets; produce automated reports and statistical analyses- Continuous Improvement: Refine testing protocols to reduce time and increase accuracyRequired Qualifications- Education: B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Optics, or related- Experience: 2+ years in a lab or semiconductor test environment- Technical Skills: Python for data analysis (Pandas, NumPy); hands-on with tunable lasers, OSAs, polarization controllers, wafer probers; ability to extract metrics (loss, Q, bandwidth); strong collaboration skillsBonus Points- Databases or metadata encoding (JSON) for measurement data- Python for instrument control (PyVISA, SCPI)- Cryogenic testing or characterization of quantum systems- SPC/JMP data analysis- Experience bridging benchtop characterization and automated wafer-level testingPosition Parameters- Location: Hyde Park, Chicago- Reporting to: Lead, Test and MeasurementWhat We Offer- Competitive salary and performance-based incentives- Equity options in a high-growth quantum tech company- Comprehensive benefits package- Professional development opportunities
