Your role and responsibilities

Do you love discovering the causes of problems, finding solutions and are you creative and curious? Are you passionate and authentic, do you want to make a difference and combine your studies and career? Then join the IBM Technology Expert Labs team! We are building IBM software solutions for our customers, bring them into production and thus creating added value for our customers. We build innovative solutions for our customers using the latest IBM technologies such as our AI platform WatsonX or IBM Concert as our technology automation platform.

During the entire orientation phase, you will be supported by structured onboarding and a personal contact person. During your Master's degree, you will work on exciting national and international projects. At IBM, you are a fully-fledged member of one of our teams and can make valuable contacts early on in one of the largest global technology companies. Your tasks are:

· You will get a taste of project management - as a junior project manager, you will develop your skills for these management tasks, project organization, tools and methods for the successful completion of projects so that they are planned and managed correctly, risks are limited, opportunities are exploited and project goals are achieved in terms of quality, on time and within budget.

· You will get to know our project manager team with their skills, project assignments and the extensive range of tasks.

· You will get to know the preparation of customer proposals, which are set up as a separate project if they are large in scope (sales, offer specialists, delivery, legal, etc.: professional and technical description, clarification of requirements, time planning, effort estimation and project team organization, quality assurance, legal framework, interviews, demos and offer presentation).

· You will support the identification, development and implementation of AI-based use cases in the project management environment to increase efficiency, transparency and delivery excellence.

· You will support the preparation, facilitation and follow-up of project management meetings, governance boards and management reviews, ensuring transparency of project status, risks, actions and decisions.

· You will contribute to the execution, continuous improvement and further expansion of the Governance Checkpoint process, ensuring compliance with IBM project delivery standards and best practices.

· You will work on the creation and enhancement of project management methodologies, templates and governance concepts for strategic growth areas and emerging technologies such as Confluent, HashiCorp and Quantum Safe solutions.

· You will establish and maintain project management guidance, reusable assets and best practices to enable project managers to successfully deliver new technology offerings and customer engagements.

Required education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise

What you bring

🎓 Successful completion of a (technical) university degree with a strong technical focus (e.g. computer science / IT security) or business informatics.

? Interest and initial experience in project management and requirements analysis

🛠 Ability to effectively present and demonstrate solutions and technologies and explain their value in a customer-oriented scenario

📢 Very good team orientation, social skills and ability to integrate

🗣 Very good written and spoken German and English skills (C1 level)

Preferred technical and professional experience
  • Experience in successfully creating use cases and/or proof-of-concepts
  • Ability to structure and plan the work needed to implement business processes in software solutions using project management tools such as Monday, or Microsoft Project
  • Project related activities in your studies or as a working student
